The annual Bonneville Speed Weeks may be about all-out speed, but speed is a relative thing when you’re talking about bikes that are better than 40 years
old.
Take William Paulovcin, for example. He brought a 50cc 1964 Honda
Dream, as well as a 1948 Indian, to run flat out across the salt. The 50cc
Honda wound up to 54.20 mph in its best run. The 1948 Indian, fitted with a
sidecar, managed a blistering 81.471 mph. Way to go, Bill!
